Graduated at Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal) in Singing Performance, André Lacerda obtained two master degrees: in performance and teaching, both from Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo.

Within a focus on oratório and concert, André’s repertoire is very eclectic including works such as Bach’s Matthäus-Passion, Johannes-Passion and Magnificat; Monteverdi’s Vespro della beata vergine; Haydn’s Die sieben letzten worte unseres Erlösers am Kreuze; Mozart’s Requiem, Te Deum, Mass C minor and Coronation Mass; Handel’s Messiah and Dixit Dominus; Caldara’s Stabat Mater, Requiem and Maddalena ai Piedi di Cristo; Mendelssohn’s Symphony n.2 – Lobgesang; Britten’s Serenade for tenor, horn and string op.31; Sousa Carvalho’s serenade Perseo; Josef Elsner’s Passio Domini Nostri Jesu Christi seu Triumphus Evangelii.

André Lacerda took part of several opera productions and played some main roles such as Ferrando and D. Basílio in Mozart’s Così fan tutte and Le Nozze di Figaro, respectively; Orphée in Offenbach’s Orphée aux Enfers; Clem and Alfred in Britten’s Little Sweep; Begónia in Nuno Côrte-Real’s O Rapaz de Bronze; D. Fuas in António José da Silva’s As Guerras do Alecrim e Manjerona. He also performed in some semi-stage productions of Lully’s Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, Idylle sur la Paix and M. A. Charpentier’s Les Arts Florissants.

Most of his repertoire has been performed with the Portugal’s most important orchestras and foremost early music ensembles, namely Divino Sospiro, Casa da Música’s Baroque Orchestra, Ludovice Ensemble and Os Músicos do Tejo. He also work frequently with Casa da Música’s Remix Ensemble, Casa da Música’s Symphonic Orchestra, Orquestra do Norte, Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras and Orquestra de Guimarães.  André Lacerda will perform the role of Alceste in Il palazzo Incantato by Luigi Rossi next season at the Opera of Dijon.
